1688 Warehouse QC Photo Checklist for Incoming Cartons
Request carton, variant and discrepancy photos for incoming 1688 goods and record when to approve, hold or ask for a separate inspection.
What should an incoming-carton QC photo show?
Request 1 carton-label image and 1 overview of the visible contents. Add a close-up of any specific feature you need to compare, and tie each image to the carton ID before approving repacking.
Ask for an image that can answer a specific question
Use a carton-label photo to confirm which parcel you are looking at, an overview to see how the product arrived and a close-up to review the requested feature. For color or finish questions, supply the listing variant reference and ask for the product label in the same set. Lighting can affect apparent color, so use a SKU label or a separately agreed check when the shade is decisive.
For suspected transit damage, ask the team to capture the outer carton and affected area before moving the contents. A photograph of the outside damage by itself does not establish the condition of units deeper in the carton.
Worked example: one carton marked blue arrives with a black SKU sticker
In this example, carton W-042/A1 was expected to contain 24 blue pouches. The label says BLK and the photograph shows 1 visible black pouch. Record the outer label and the visible sample as evidence of a discrepancy, then hold that carton and request a supplier response or a scoped SKU check.
Carton W-042/B1 belongs to another seller and its evidence matches the order. The buyer can release B1 for packing while A1 stays on hold if the warehouse confirms the split. The photo of one pouch does not establish the color of the other 23.
Separate visible checks from detailed inspection
Visible checks can show carton condition, exterior labels or the appearance of items that can be seen. A full piece count, opening sealed inner units, taking measurements against a tolerance, testing functions or checking product safety requires a separately agreed method. JTLGO lists detailed photos and SKU checks as separate services in its warehouse charge sheet.
Keep a decision next to each image set
Save carton ID, order or SKU reference, requested view, observation and action in a single record. Mark the action as approve, hold for seller response or request a more detailed check. Keep the original carton reference when the goods later move to another box so the photo evidence is still findable.
Common questions
Can warehouse QC photos prove the exact quantity?
A photo only establishes what can be seen. Request a piece count with an agreed scope if you need an exact total.
How do I request a photograph of a defect?
Identify the carton or SKU, describe the location and provide a marked reference image when possible. Ask for an overview and a close-up so the detail can be traced to the correct item.
Should I approve a carton before an issue is resolved?
Keep the affected carton on hold until you have the evidence needed to approve it. If another carton is clear to proceed, confirm that it can be handled separately.
