1688 Warehouse Storage and Carton Release Checklist
Track arrival and hold dates for staggered 1688 parcels, check warehouse storage terms, and approve a full or partial carton release.
When should you decide whether to hold or release?
Record each arrival and schedule a release review before the storage allowance ends. JTLGO’s charge sheet lists 7 free days and USD 0.10 per kg per day for small parcels after that period. Confirm when the clock starts and which charges apply.
Record the earliest deadline alongside the latest supplier ETA
For each received carton, keep the confirmed arrival date, any agreed storage allowance, the first billable day if applicable and the earliest date you can approve release. For pending cartons, record the seller’s most recent dispatch or delivery estimate. Compare the earliest storage deadline with the latest arrival estimate before deciding to wait.
Ask the team to confirm how it counts days and whether the allowance applies to individual cartons or the batch. Check the current charge sheet and cargo classification before relying on a small-parcel storage estimate for large cargo.
Worked example: a late parcel changes the release decision
In this example, cartons A1 and B1 have arrived and passed photo review. Carton C1 is delayed, and the seller expects it 3 days after the warehouse’s confirmed review deadline. Ask for two written options: hold A1 and B1 until C1 arrives, or release A1 and B1 first and handle C1 separately. The cost comparison should show storage, extra handling and any packing work triggered by either option.
If the current quoted storage rate is USD 0.10 per kg per day and the warehouse confirms 12 billable kg for 3 days, the illustrated storage line is USD 3.60. The worked amount covers storage under those assumptions. A warehouse quote must confirm the rate, the billable weight and any other applicable charges.
Approve cartons and exceptions in the release record
Name the cartons approved for handoff, the ones that remain on hold and the person or team authorized to take the next step. For packed cartons, include the latest gross weights and outside dimensions, the contents map and any labels the receiver needs. Confirm the packing or storage charges before handoff and keep the final approval with the warehouse record.
Keep a pending row for cartons left behind
A partial release closes only the listed carton IDs. Assign an owner and a new review date for every retained or missing carton. If a seller’s dispatch is canceled, update the expected count and note the supplier’s confirmation so the warehouse can reconcile the batch accurately.
Common questions
Does the 7-day allowance restart when a later parcel arrives?
Ask the warehouse to confirm which arrival starts the clock for your order. A later delivery should only change your storage plan when the team confirms how it affects the earlier cartons.
Can I release part of a 1688 batch?
Request a partial release with the exact carton IDs and ask whether extra handling or a separate pack is needed. Keep a dated review plan for the cartons remaining in storage.
What information should I save after warehouse handoff?
Save the approved carton list, measured carton data, handling record and handoff reference. For a partial release, also save the list of cartons still held and the next review date.
